Isabella B 4.0 out of 5 stars I do a weekly collar check when. It worked, but then it suddenly didn't after a few weeks. Simple fix for that. It just needed to be removed from the collar for 15 minutes, allowing the collar to reset, then put it back in. Collar works fine again. I do a weekly collar check when I wash my dog and no problems since.Worked great. Sometimes when buying batteries locally they sit on shelf so long they are already weak when you buy them. Not with this purchase. Great price for good quality product.Battery worked fine in the dog collar, not DOA as some reviews of other sellers. Time will tell as to the battery life. So far, satisfied with the experience. The seller even emailed with contact info should any problems arise.

Note that you have to pop the old battery out and wait five minutes before inserting this one, or it won't work. Had to read the directions before I realized I didn't have a bad battery. It is perfect — even though it says it is for a lighted leash it fits the collar perfectly.Good deal so far. I have never had a problem and my only sorrow is that I didn't have it sooner. It is a real blessing and people don't know what they are missing and how good my yard looks without the traditional fencing everywhere. Thanks! If you have questions, need repair work, or are interested in an estimate for a new fence, please give us a call. Batteries and replacement parts can be purchased online or by contacting us directly. close. No matter the terrain you are enclosing, we have the heavy duty wire you will need. These 1,000 foot rolls are enough wire to enclose up to 1 to acre. We recommend Heavy Duty Pet Fence wire in any areas where the wire may experience wear and tear such as rocky conditions or cold weather climates. Electric dog fences usually come with 20-gauge (thinnest), 18-gauge, 16-gauge, or 14-gauge (thickest) wire. The 20-gauge wire with a vinyl coating is what you will find in most pre-packaged do-it-yourself fencing kits. Most professionally installed systems use the more substantial 14, 16 or 18 gauge wire.

Whether you’re replacing a section of your existing fence or wiring your yard from scratch, you can easily find a relatively inexpensive and compatible wire for your project. Regardless of gauge, you should choose only a solid insulated wire rated for burial preferably polyethylene or plastic coated works best. All of our wire use these coatings for maximum performance. Regardless of gauge, this wire is of medium quality, lighter weight and keeps shipping and initial costs down. This wire will work but does not hold up to the elements as well as a professional grade wire. The vinyl wire coating is prone to cracks and over time exposes the copper leaving the wire susceptible to damage. This can cause issues that impact the functionality of your dog fence system. Since finding, digging up, and repairing wire breaks can be a tedious job at best, many people prefer to upgrade to a pro-grade wire from the start. Heavy Duty Grade Wire The initial cost of heavy duty grade wire is a bit more than manufacturer grade wire. However, there are many benefits to choosing heavy duty wire for your dog fence. Heavy Duty grade dog fence wire holds up better to freezing conditions, sunlight exposure, contraction and expansion of the ground, water exposure and general wear and tear. The long term savings in time and replacement if you are planning on staying in your home for at least a year or more, makes the heavier duty wire a much better investment. How Much Wire Do You Need.I bought this roll of wire in 14 gauge as the wire I currently had was 20 gauge. Well worth the price and easy to tie into my system. Dog is not happy now but I am!! I rented an EZ-Trench Wire Trencher from Home Depot and was able to put down 950 feet in just over and hour. For larger layouts it helps to stake out your perimeter with mason before installing. The 14 gauge wire is copper clad steel core not solid copper.

The first time we buried the wire, but this time, when we moved, we used the suggestions for laying it above ground and it was much easier and still works extremely well for our dogs. The heavy duty wire especially seems to be working great in above ground application. We went with the original gauge it is a smaller wire. Every other week we had an alarm and had to find where the rabbits or squirrels chewed it in half. Got pretty tired of that game so we bought all new 14G wire. This was the right price, the coating is stout and the wire is good and heavy. It has been up for a month and there are not breaks in the wire. Wish we had put this up in the first place. I have never been disappointed. Fast shipping and the prices are lower than any competitor. With proper installation and dog training, my petsafe underground fence has been virtually flawless. I would never consider owning dogs without this system. We have four (4) dogs and it works amazingly. Without question, would recommend to anyone with dogs that are constantly leaving your property boundaries. You will not regret your purchase. I have been a customer since 1989. Shipping sucked: heavy-mass items are just put in a cardboard box. Plastic spools broken 4 out of 4. Now difficult to use. This wire is definitely better insulated than the wire that comes with all the fence kits. It weathered Hurricane Irma with no issues. You do have to be extra careful with connections, they are tougher to get just right than the yellow wire was. The wire is really thick and solid. The coating is thick and also tough. However I would recommend better packaging before shipping. 2 out of 3 of my 1000ft rolls had been damaged during shipping which made unrolling the wire an unnecessary challenge. Just put a short piece of rebar in the center hole and the wire layed nicely by using the plastic wire holder as a spool. Great quality wire! Used a mantis tiller with the edger attachment. Took about three hours to do the job.

Also used landscaping staples to hold it in place. Should last a lot longer than that 20 gauge I used before. Our wire is UV resistant and it is rated for direct burial. Was this answer helpful? Was this answer helpful? Was this answer helpful? As for the layout it would be best to look at the manual and the sample lay outs to see what will work best for your yard. Was this answer helpful? Believe it or not, I need it to give to our inspector. We have to prove that the 14ga AWG wire we purchased from you is rated for direct burial. Thank you While our wire is rated for direct burial, the intended use is for in-ground pet fences. In-ground pet fence transmit a radio signal rather than any kind of electric current which it sounds like you need for your application. While our wire could be used for these applications, we did not have a spec sheet prepared because we did not anticipate the wire to be used in any application other than in-ground dog fencing. Was this answer helpful? I need 4500 to 5000 feet and prefer solid 14 g. We have 20, 18, 16, and 14 Gauge wire. This 1,000 foot roll is the longest roll we have.I can't see any reason why it wouldn't work. Both products use a transmitter to send a radio signal through the wire.We don't not have any color options.
